Searing annual Metamora parade

Young people brave the searing heat on a float bearing ice cream cones during the annual Metamora 4th of July parade on Saturday, July 7. There were triple digit readings on what many are calling the hottest day in more than 100 years. There was a sparse crowd for the parade with the those in the parade outnumbering those watching the parade. Also, the parade route was shortened.
