One day charity softball tournament set for Saturday

There will be a one-day softball tournament to benefit the Special Olympics on Saturday, August 11, at the lower fields in the Brookville Park.

Teams can still register to play, and some teams need help filling out. The cost is $120 per team.

The double-elimination tournament is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.

The tourney is open to all ages. Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian to sign for them.

Male competitors will use wooden bats while female competitors can use metal bats.

There will be two representatives from Special Olympics to throw out and catch the first pitch.

To register for the tournament or for more information, call Bob Meier or Olivia Meier.
