Mike Edward Chandler
Mike Edward Chandler, age 68, long-time resident of Rushville, passed away December 7, 2013.
Mike was born Dec. 12, 1944, the son of Mildred (Misner) Kemp, who preceded him in death along with a brother, Richard Chandler.
Mike was a long-time resident of Rushville and a retired employee of the Rush County Highway Department. He also owned Chandler Sanitation Service for 30 years. He was a long-time member of the Eagles Lodge & the American Legion. He was a loving father and grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Mike is survived by son, Mike Chandler Jr., of Rushville; daughters, Misty Chandler of Carmel and Tracy Chandler of Rushville; four grandchildren, Mathew, Kaitlin, Kara, Chandler, Olivia Foreman; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are brother, Doyle Chandler of Spiceland; and sisters, Eva (Frank) White and Cathy (Donnie) Jacobs, both of California.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. today, December 11, at the Burns Funeral Home Milroy, with Duane Alexander officating. Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 10. Burial will be in Bennett Cemetery at Rays Crossing.

Jean Ison, age 85, one month and 12 days, passed away in the loving arms of her husband, December 6, 2013, at their residence. She was born October 24, 1928, on Kingscreek in Letcher County, Kentucky, to George H. and Polly Mitchell Ison.
She married Billy G. Ison May 22, 1948 in Whitesburg, Kentucky, and he survives. She was a member of the Little Memory Church of the Old Regular Baptist where she served for 43 years. She enjoyed going to church, reading the Bible, taking walks and spending time with family and friends.
Besides her husband, Bill, of 65 years, she is survived by three sons, Steve (Haroline) Ison of Brookville, Lambert (Janet) Ison of West Harrison and Robert Ison of Scipio; two daughters, Beverly Ison of Grapevine, Texas, and Marilyn Ramey of West Alexandria, Ohio; two brothers, Doug Ison of Columbus and Michael Ison of Kingscreek, Kentucky, and one sister, Polly Maucher of New Trenton; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sarah Louise Ison; an infant great-grandson, Trevor Ison; a sister, Edna Sturgill; and four brothers, George Jr. (Bruggie), Richard, John and Bob Ison.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. today, December 11, at Cook Funeral Home in Brookville with Brother Robert Haney, Brother Charles Combs and Brother Billy Halcomb officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Stephen B. Phillips
Stephen B. Phillips, 65, of Rushville, passed away suddenly, December 5, 2013, in Greensburg. He was born May 2, 1948, in Rushville to Otto Barge "Pete" Phillips and Dovie (Ward) Bulmer.
He was a 1965 graduate of New Salem High School. He married Linda Hunter on July 12, 1974. Steve was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran. He worked 26 years at D & M and 11 years at Klosterman Bakery. Steve was a member of the Andersonville Masonic Lodge #96 F&AM. He loved the outdoors and had a passion for cars.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, of Andersonville; sons, Jason Phillips and Brandy of Greensburg and David and wife, Ruth Phillips of Rushville; a daughter, Jennifer Phillips and Angie of Greensburg; step-brothers, Ron and wife, Betty, Bulmer and Monty Bulmer; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. today, December 11, at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Rev. Bob Ward presiding. Burial will be in the Laurel North Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Rush County Veteran's Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in order to help with final expenses.
Truman J. Proctor
Truman J. Proctor, 74, of Cedar Grove, died suddenly Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at his residence. He was born in Reading, Ohio, a son to Homer and Emma Fields Proctor.
He married Helen Frazee more than 37 years ago, and she survives. Truman retired from Armor Metal two years ago after 50 years of employment. He enjoyed camping and was always eager for the hunting season to begin.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; sons, Tony Proctor, Jimmy Proctor and Larry Proctor; stepsons, Rusty Hall, Troy Hall and Gary Meadows; stepdaughters, Sherry Carberry and Teresa Breaker; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Wilma Bailey. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services began at 12 noon Friday, December 6, at Cook Funeral Home in Brookville with Bill Richmond officiating. Burial and graveside services followed in Arlington Memorial Cemetery, 2145 Compton Road, Cincinnati, Ohio at 2:30 p.m.
Memorial donations may be directed to Hospice of Margaret Mary Community Hospital.
Jason Paul Snyder
Jason Paul Snyder, 33, of Liberty, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013. Jason was born December 13, 1979, in Oxford, Ohio, to Brian Keith Snyder and Sharon Lynn Elliott Snyder. He attended Union County Schools and worked in construction.
Besides his father and step-mother, Brian and Valerie Snyder of Richmond, and mother and step-father, Sharon and Brad Shepard of Brookville, Jason is survived by two sons, Evan Keith and Dillon Paul Snyder, both of Richmond; one daughter, Savanna Snyder of Richmond; one sister and her spouse, Chasity Wilkinson and Isaac of Cambridge City; paternal grandmother, Mary Snyder of Liberty; maternal grandparents, Bill and Wilma Elliott of Liberty; and two nieces.
Jason was preceded in death by his grandfather, Keith Snyder; and a cousin.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel in Liberty with Britt Hensley officiating. Friends may visit from 5 p.m. Sunday until time of service where memorial contribution can be made to Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home for a fund for Jason's children.
Sharon J. Caldwell
Sharon J. Caldwell, 51 of Harrison, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2013, at her home.
She was born July 12, 1962, in Connersville, a daughter of Earnest R. and Dorothy E. (Reese) Phillips. Sharon enjoyed antiquing, fishing, crafts and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by a son, Ryan Phillips Caldwell of Harrison, Ohio; a daughter, Shawna Kay Caldwell of Cincinnati, Ohio; three grandsons; her father, Earnest R. Phillips of Brookville; two sisters, Tina (Dennis) Nunier of Brookville and Melinda Burkhart of West Harrison; her companion, Joe Wolf of Harrison, Ohio; a step-daughter, Jodi Wolf of Scottsdale, Arizona; a step-son, Dennis Wolf II of Blue Jay, Ohio; and two step-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy E. Phillips.
Calling will be from 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday, December 12, at Cook Funeral Home in Brookville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 13. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Autism Society of Greater Cincinnati.
David P. Meyer
David P. Meyer, 61, of Brookville, died Monday, December 9, 2013, at Fayette Regional Hospital in Connersville. He was born July 5, 1952, in Batesville, to Mack and Peg Rusterholz Meyer.
David graduated from Eastern Kentucky University. He married Becky White on April 24, 1976, in Louisville, Kentucky, and she survives. David worked for the Watch Center in Brookville and J & J Packaging in Sunman before retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, cooking and sports.
Survivors include his wife of more than 37 years, Becky Meyer; children, Katherine (Casey) Almon of Princeton, Neal (Alaina) Meyer of Bloomington and Justin (Mandy) Meyer of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren; three brothers, Richard (Jennifer) Meyer of North Bend, Ohio, Terry Meyer of Harrison, Ohio, and Mark (Peggy) Meyer of Eagle River, Arkansas.
Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Hugh White.
Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, December 13, from 4-8 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 14, at the funeral home, officiated by Father Sean Danda. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
