Hagerstown, Union County, Richmond advance to IHSAA girls golf regional
Connersville, Hagerstown, Richmond and Union County, played in a foursome at the IHSAA Girls Golf Sectional at Highland Lake Golf Course last Saturday, and three of those four teams moved on to the New Castle Regional.
Led by second low- medalist Jess Denhart’s 73, Hagerstown’s Lady Tigers walked away with their first sectional title with a 330.
Union County was runner-up at 335, which was three strokes better than Richmond in third place.
Ryleigh Waltz’s 74 led the Lady Patriots, and Erin Ingram shot 72 for the Lady Red Devils.
Maureen Miller shot 77, Hannah King 90, Shelby Hale 94 and Breeanna McClure 99.
Knightstown’s Erin Bundy was low medalist at 71. She advanced as an individual along with Centerville’s Sierra Lesh (75) and Tayte Adams (82)
The IHSAA girls golf regional is Saturday, Sept. 22, at Westwood Country Club in New Castle.
“I think we can get out,” Waltz said. “We just need to focus.”
Other teams advancing to the New Castle Regional are: Noblesville (295), Hamilton Southeastern (306), Fishers (340), Batesville (358), Greensburg (397), North Decatur (411), Lawrence Central (368), Cathedral (337), Chatard (359), Mt. Vernon (385), New Palestine (389), Greenfield Central (400), Yorktown (303), Winchester 358, Delta (365).
