Remembering the 1974 UCHS basketball team

The 1974 Union County High School basketball team went undefeated in the regular season and was ranked 19th in the state.  The UC High School had a reunion and recognition of the team at the beginning of the UC HS vs Shenandoah High School basketball game on Jan. 27. All the players were given a picture of the team and a plaque with a small piece of the original basketball floor the team played and practiced on for years. The event was organized by Roger Bowling. 

Members of the original team in attendance at Saturday’s game were Johnny Persinger, Bill Hensley, Ray Moore, Jerry Powers, Jim Frazee, Tony Gulley, Nancy Snodgrass, (Coach's wife, David Dudley, Alden Sasser, (Ed's son), Ron Kaufman, Mike Snyder, David Walters, Richard Robinson, Karen (Parks) Bunch , Vickie Raish, Melissa (Heater) Dunnington.
