Daniela Blanco, Sunman, has been selected at the 2024 Hispanic Community Advisory Committee (HCAC) Scholarship winner.  Blanco, a 2024 Batesville graduate, will continue her studies at Xavier University and study nursing.  In the application, Batesville teacher Katy Tincher wrote, “What sets Daniela apart is her exceptional ability to balance academic excellence with active participation in extracurricular activities and working two jobs.”

The HCAC Selection Committee credited Blanco for her accomplishments while at student at Batesville High School such as National Honor Society Spanish Club, and numerous volunteer and community service efforts. Students from Batesville, Oldenburg Academy, Milan, and East Central applied as well.

This selection marks the 11th year that the HCAC has presented an academic scholarship.   Prior winners of the scholarship have been Megan Karbowski (2013), Nyarlis Nuñez (2014), Lexi Eisert (2015), Jasmine Blanco (2016), Rose Meer (2017), Melissa Meneses (2018), Caitlyn Garcia (2019), Grace Mack (2020), Pamela Meneses (2021), and Denisse Visoso (2023).  The HCAC of Batesville is a volunteer, nonprofit, human services organization.  The HCAC serves as a bridge between cultures and provides translation services, English as a Second Language class and other community resources.
