April 26, 2024 at 12:29 p.m.

The Rushville Common Council met on April 15 at 6 p.m. Bob Bridges, Brad Berkemeier, Rob Hadley, Jemmy Miller, and Ron Gardner answered roll call. Eli Bridges was not present. Also present was city attorney Julie Newhouse.

A public hearing was conducted to discuss the re-establishment of the CCD Fund. However, there were no questions or comments from the public. Berkemeier then proposed to close the public hearing, which Bridges seconded. The public hearing was subsequently closed.

COUNCIL PRESIDENT’S REPORT:

Council President Berkemeier praised the departments for their hard work during the eclipse.

Berkemeier and Kyle Gardner discussed the request to help provide water to the town of Glenwood. He expressed his opinion that the timing for the request was not appropriate as there was not enough information available. However, he agrees that Glenwood needs a better water source.

The Street Department’s 2024-1 project, the Waites Addition, has won the CCMG Award worth $300,000. As the project impacts the county, they’ve been asked to participate. They have agreed to look into it.
